ABOUT MATT COOPER BITES
I’m Matt Cooper, founder of Matt Cooper Bites — a small startup based in the Black Country. Growing up, I developed a real love for the diverse cuisines the region is known for. I was always chasing that proper restaurant-style flavour at home, tweaking recipes until they tasted just right. What began as a few homemade spice mixes for friends and family has grown into something much bigger — helping households across the country achieve authentic flavours from the comfort of their own home.
The ORIGIN
Growing up in the region, I was surrounded by incredible food. The Desi pubs of the Midlands, with their mixed grills and curries, had a huge influence on me. I loved cooking from a young age and found real joy in bringing people together through food.
The reviews
2021
In 2021, I decided to start reviewing the hundreds of Desi pubs across the West Midlands because I wanted to shine a spotlight on them. Along the way, I picked up plenty of tips and tricks from chefs about what makes their food taste so different compared to cooking it yourself at home.

2022
At the same time, I was making these dishes at home and posting them on social media. People were fascinated by the idea that you could recreate the same authentic taste in your own kitchen.
the first products
2023
That interest in my recipes sparked an idea. I put together 20 packs of my specially crafted Tikka, Seekh Kebab, and Masala Chip Seasoning blends. Honestly, I thought I’d end up giving most of them away to family, but they sold out in an hour.
the new product range
2024
Things started to get a little bit serious in 2024. The original products were flying off the shelves, and 5 new Curry Kits were added to the range. I had to rent my first space (albeit small) to keep up with demand whilst still working full time.
the next chapter
2025
In April 2025, I finally took the leap, quit my job, and moved into our first proper commercial unit.
It was a scary decision and one I had many sleepless nights over - but it has been one of the best decisions I've ever made.
